2022 Petite Sirah, North Coast
93% Petite Sirah, 7% Zinfandel
Dark purple in the glass, this bold Petite Sirah opens with aromas of mocha, espresso and a hint of smoked meat. On the palate, flavors of peppered pork belly, blackberry and fig jam are accentuated by nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, white pepper and vanilla bean. Firm, structured tannins provide classic Petite Sirah intensity, while a touch of Zinfandel rounds the edges, adding notes of red berry and spice that linger in the finish.

Vineyard Notes
Sourced primarily from Juliana Vineyard in Pope Valley and Godward Vineyard in Calistoga, this Petite Sirah showcases the region’s intensity and character. A touch of Zinfandel is artfully blended to soften the variety’s naturally bold tannins while adding layers of spice and complexity. Enjoy now till 2036.

Winemaker Notes
Fermenting just before the point of completion, we remove the wine from the skins to avoid overextracting the tannin and to help develop more of the complex fruit that this varietal can offer. In barrel, we blend oak from France, America and Hungary to add yet another layer of complexity to our Petite Sirah blend.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair with a spice-rubbed, slow-roasted brisket. The wine’s firm tannins are softened by the richness of the meat, while its dark fruit balances the savory, smoky flavors. Notes of pepper and baking spice echo the rub, creating a seamless, full-bodied pairing.
