Vineyard Notes
This Girard Mountain Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon is our opportunity to showcase some of our treasured mountain vineyard sources located within Napa Valley. For this cuvée, Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were sourced from Diamond Mountain, Mt. Veeder, and Howell Mountain AVAs, with each appellation contributing something to the overall blend. While the ‘sum is greater than the parts’ we often attribute the structured tannins and bold fruit to the volcanic soils of the Diamond Mountain portion. The Rocky terrain and volcanic soils lend the Howell
Mountain portion intense dark fruit and ripe, age-worthy tannins. The cooler climate Mt. Veeder fruit lends the blend a complexity and vibrant acidity in addition to a core of dark black fruit.
