Vineyard Notes
Our Primitivo is sourced from the Santo Giordano Vineyard, located just south of the Viansa Estate. Originally planted by Sam Sebastiani and Jordan Smith, this site has a long history of producing high-quality fruit. The vines are established on a northeast-facing slope that captures morning sun while protecting the fruit from excessive afternoon heat, allowing for steady, even ripening. Well-drained soils, coupled with consistent coastal breezes, promote concentration of flavor while retaining natural acidity.

1st Bottling
Winemaker Notes
The grapes were harvested in the cool of the morning and destemmed before a brief cold soak to enhance color and flavor. Fermentation on the skins developed depth and structure, followed by gentle pressing and settling. The wine was then aged in barrel for 16 months to integrate tannins, build complexity, and add subtle oak influence before bottling.
